The final piece is written in the nature of an organ toccata and fugue – spectacular and dramatic, like the landscape which inspired it. One of the rock formations of the Giant’s Causeway is familiarly known as the Organ, and is a section of cliff where the basalt columns are exposed to a great height. They tower impressively upwards, like the pipes of a great organ. The music reflects the powerful grandeur of the surrounding landscape and seascape.
