Classic Children's Poetry - Twelve Impressions for Piano - Grades 4-6

A A Milne's poetry was an important part of my early childhood and it has been a delight to write these affectionate tributes to the poems which entertained, fascinated, informed and intrigued me as a child.

REVIEW - Piano Professional

As with 'Children's Corner' and 'A Prole do Bebe', the pieces conjure up childhood rather than being easy enough for small children to play.  They are inspired by A A Milne's When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six.  From the freshness of the Spring Morning to the limpid Water Lilies, Armstrong creates an ambivalence of key and time signature (Vespers is marked 2/4 3/4) which sounds charmingly natural.  You can almost smell the yellow daffodils in Daffodowndilly; and Pinkle Purr reproduces many of the actual sounds made by a cat.
